Dad Shoots Up Daughter’s Laptop Over Facebook

10 Feb

Tommy Jordan discovered his daughter’s rant on Facebook.

She had blocked her parents from her account and did a post complaining about her chores and expectations from her parents.

Her father discovered it and did a video reply followed by shooting up her laptop with his .45.

I can see where her daughter gets her attifude.

I totally agree with the principle of kids needing to value the dollar, being thankful for what you have, doing household chores, and appreciating family.

Amen to that.

But as I listen to him talk, I can’t help but giggle because by hearing her letter, she sounds like a carbon copy of him.

Moral of the story:

Kids- Don’t talk too much shit about your parents. They love you and want the best for you. You will appreciate them when you have kids of your own. (And we will find a way to stalk you on social media! lol)

Parents- Your kids block you from social media for a reason. LOL. They’re teenagers. Set the tone for your kids and values early. They emulate what they see.

You can join Tommy’s Facebook page HERE.

P.S- I can totally see myself doing this as a teenager and a parent. Phew. So glad I have boys!

7 Year Old Girl Escapes Walmart Kidnap Attempt

9 Feb

Mo and I watch prison shows together.

We talk about child molesters, kidnappers, and criminals.

Some people think I shouldn’t do that.

Bad guys” are real. He needs to know this.

Unfortunately, everyone in the world does not have a kind heart or good intentions.

Recently, Seven-year-old Brittany Baxter was grabbed by a scumbag asshole man at a Walmart in Bremen, Georgia.

She said while looking at Princess and Fairy stuff, a man tried to kidnap her.

Walmart video shows he picked her up and tried to put his hand over her mouth, but she was kicking and screaming. He then dropped her and ran out.

This is some BULLSHIT!

Criminals are bold. In a huge public store, he tried to kidnap this 7 year old child.  SMH.

This brave little girl might have saved her own life.

25 year old Thomas A Woods, was on parole for voluntary manslaughter,he  now faces a charge of attempted kidnapping.

Throw his ass under the jail.

So proud of little Brittney.

Parents, teach your kids about strangers and that if someone violates your child it is ok to spaz out, kick, scream, throw things….anything they need to do to get away.

Our society is too polite. I tell Mo and B to not be afraid to offend or hurt a person’s feelings if they make them uncomfortable or violate them.

Please share this video with your kids and continue to teach them that no one has a right to hurt them.

Hot Mom & Hot Dad Rock Super Bowl

5 Feb

At 53 years old, Madonna Louise Ciccone is older than the Super Bowl.

Gospel choir, cartwheels, hot bod Gladiators, drumline, tightrope walker, one armed push ups, M.I.A., Cee Lo, Nicki Minaj and LMFAO….no, I’m not talking about what goes on in my bedroom.

This was Madonna’s performance at Super Bowl XLVI (that’s 46 for those of you who weren’t paying attention to Roman Numerals in grade school).

Mommy of 4, Madonna rocked the halftime show doing a medley of old songs with her new upcoming single, “Give Me All Your Luvin”.

Her performance of Vogue, Music, and Like A Prayer had every gay man and old school pop music junkee up dancing and working off the the Super Bowl hot wings.

After 8 years of not having a female solo act not do a halftime performance, hats off to Madge. She looked stunning and put on a great show.

As if all that weren’t enough entertainment for 1 night, father of 4, David Beckham debuted his H&M bodywear collection in a commercial during the game.

*fanning myself*

If you ever wondered if women watched the Super Bowl, you knew as soon as his commercial aired. Twitter went crazy and David Beckham instantly started trending.

I imagine it was quite awkward for men watching the game to see helmet to helmet action, then all of a sudden Beckham’s tats, pecs, and tight ass are on the screen.

Wowzers.

But seriously, I was only looking at his package tattoos.

Becks and Madge are proof that parenthood and aging only make you better!

Don’t Say The R-Word

2 Feb

My kids say “SHIT”.

I don’t mind, as long as they use it appropriately and in extreme situations.

When Mo spent 3 hours putting together a Lego village, then accidentally dropped it, umm yeah, saying SHIT was ok.

When Mo was playing Temple Run and fell 100 points short of breaking his 3 million point record, saying SHIT was ok.

When B spent 20 minutes at the park sandbox making tunnels and castles only to have them stepped on and destroyed by 2 bratty kids, saying SHIT was ok.

I consider myself slightly tolerant.

HOWEVER, when we were listening to the radio and a song came on that Mo didn’t like he said, “This song is RETARDED“.

I almost lost it.

He would have been better off saying “This song is SHIT”.

I can’t stand the R-Word!

I let my kids say certain curse words (under approved circumstances), but I absolutely WILL NOT let them say the R-Word.

Over time, the terms mental retardation and retard have been taken out of context and used in a derogatory or demeaning manner to describe someone or something.

My career in Physical Therapy began working with an Atlanta Children’s Hospital. I worked with many amazing kids with Special Needs and their families. It was such a great experience.

I went on to work with a Special Needs elementary school. I never looked forward to going to work so much everyday. The kids really touched my life with their courage, positive attitude, and loving hearts.

I also did volunteer work with the Special Olympics and my respect for people with Special Needs, their family, teachers, and caretakers continued to grow.

So when I hear people use the R-Word, I take offense. It’s hurtful.

As parents, it’s up to us to teach our kids that saying the R-Word is unacceptable.

Lead by example. Just as you’ve eliminated other derogatory and dehumanizing words, do the say with this one.

Educate yourself and your children.

There is nothing funny about making fun of other people.

You can make an online pledge to stop saying the word.

I pledge and support the elimination of the derogatory use of the r-word from everyday speech and promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets Are Gross

29 Jan

This blog almost made me puke.

The things I do to bring you guys info and entertainment…

Sooo….this chic named Stacey Irvine, a 17 year old in Britain has been scarfing down McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets all her life. No fruits. No veggies. Just nuggets.

While my 7 and 3 year old sons would enjoy the thought of this, it is actually disgusting and not good for you.

Stacey was rushed to a British hospital bc she collapsed and was struggling to breathe.

Upon examination, doctors learned since the age of 2, Stacey has never eaten fruits or veggies, only fast food fried chicken nuggets.

WTH?!

Ok, I know babies don’t come with a manual, but come on parents, THIS IS NOT GOOD!

Stacey’s mom said she tried to get her daughter to eat other foods. Stacey said once she started eating nuggets, she “loved them so much they were all I would eat.”

So, what’s in these yummy nuggets Stacey and so many others scarf down daily:

A study determined McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are “stripped down to the bone, and then ‘ground up’ into a chicken mash, then combined with a variety of stabilizers and preservatives, pressed into familiar shapes, breaded and deep fried, freeze dried, and then shipped to a McDonald’s near you.”

Do you like cosmetic products and Silly Putty? Great, because one of the stabilizers and preservatives you are eating is dimethylpolysiloxane, a form of silicone used to make cosmetice products and Silly Pully.

YUM-OH! Let’s break out the BBQ sauce!!!

Parenting isn’t easy.

We are often trying to spread ourselves thin finding enough time in the day to get things done.

But COME ON…we have to do better than letting a fast food chain feed our kids on a regular basis.

Do my kids eat McDonald’s? Yes. But not on a regular basis.  I also make sure they eat fruits, veggies, and healthy home cooked meals in addition to the crushed eyeballs/tendons/preservatives nuggets they get at McDonald’s.

I remember growing up, an outing to a fast food joint was a TREAT. It was a reward for doing something really great like getting an “A” on a report or my mom getting a promotion.

Fast food was not the answer to dinner EVERY NIGHT.

Just like we are conscious about who our kids play with, how much tv they watch, their grades in school, their safety in public, what activities of play they do…we should also be responsible about what foods we feed them regularly.

If you have young kids, start them on good eating habits NOW. It will make your life and theirs much easier and healthier.

P. S- Someone please tell me Chick Fil-A doesn’t do any of this crap to their chicken, bc I GETS DOWN at Chick Fil-A!!!!

366 Random Acts Of Kindness

20 Jan

It’s amazing how much parenthood can make you see things in a different light.

For me, being a mom gave me my forgotten voice back.

Motherhood innately made me wanna be a strong, intelligent role model for kids.

It also inspired me to write and share my journey on this lovely blog that you enjoy so much :)

Parenthood also inspired 30 year old Chicago sales rep Ryan Garcia.

Ryan has vowed to do 366 random acts of kindness…that’s something for every day of 2012 (ok, slow people, this year is a Leap year, hence 366 days).

“It was a New Year’s resolution. I have a newborn daughter who is 4-months-old, and I just want to set a great example for her. So every day this year, I’m going to do a different random act of kindness.”

He is blogging about his journey.

Here’s his list of kind acts done so far:

366 RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS: THE LIST SO FAR

DAY 1: Gave a hard-working StreetWise vendor money for groceries

DAY 2: Sent a letter to a soldier in Afghanistan

DAY 3: Donate eye glasses

DAY 4: Help promote someone who is trying to help others

DAY 5: Let everyone go first, EVERYONE

DAY 6: Read a book to my daughter/Donated a book to children

DAY 7: Donated blood and a bone marrow sample

DAY 18: Helped someone see his favourite team

Day 19: Bought Girl Scout Cookies

Day 20: Bought a stranger breakfast

After reading his list, I’m feeling like a slight underachiever. Hmm…the kindest thing I’ve done this year was prolly check my mail in a tank top and not flick off my neighbor for staring at my boobs.

I’ve got to do better!

Ryan hopes to inspire others.

“It’s just to spread kindness. Maybe someone will see this and they’ll do something nice for their neighbor.”

I applaud Ryan’s efforts. We need more dads and human beings dedicated to goodness like this.

Check out his blog and send him acts of kindness ideas:  366randomacts.org.

You can follow him on twitter: @366RandomActs (lets help him get his followers up…he has 174 now)

facebook: www.facebook.com/366RandomActsOfKindness).

Because Ryan is such a standup guy, 10 cents will be donated to charity for every Like and Follow.

Ryan, if Oprah were still on the air, you would definitely be sitting next to her for an episode.

Hats off to you!!! Keep up the great work!

I’m sure you’ve already made your daughter very proud :-)

Red Tails

11 Jan

Living in LA, I constantly hear buzz about entertainment events going on.

Most of it I ignore, bc it usually is just that…BUZZ.

However, I have a special interest in one upcoming event.

On January 20, the movie Red Tails will be released.

Red Tails is the heroic story of the Tuskegee Airmen, a crew of African American pilots during World War II.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the 1st all black aerial combat unit.

During  a time of intense segregation, these brave young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country.

Father of 3 George Lucas is the Executive Producer.

Father of 2 John Ridley is the writer.

Aside from the amazing story, many people are talking about Red Tails because George Lucas invested $58 million of his own money into this project. His estimated net worth is 3.2 billion.

Red Tails has taken 23 years to make.

On top of the large script content, Georgie said he had a hard time getting Hollywood studios to fund the movie because of the all black cast.

Now that the January 20 release date is around the corner, everyone is getting super excited.

The film focuses on Tuskegee Airmen heroes of World War II and has become one of the only movies to be screened privately for two US presidents prior to its release.

Red Tails star, Terrence Howard was  present at a showing for George H Bush in Houston, Texas.

There will also be a private screening at the White House with President Barack Obama.

Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry are showing their support of the film after hosting a private screening of the film in Dallas.

Oprah said, ”It’s a film about human beings with enormous courage who believed in our country, who wanted to fight for our country, who are really our heroes.”

For me, the biggest endorsement came from Alabama football head coach, Nick Saban.

Coach Saban took his football team to view the movie the night before the BCS Championship game against my beloved #1 ranked LSU Tigers.

After a 21-0 victory over my Tigers (sniff sniff) the media were anxiously awaiting to hear Coach Saban’s winning secret. He surprisingly revealed his team was inspired by Red Tails:

We went to see the move Red Tails last night, which I would reccomend to anybody. But, you know, those guys’ motto was “to the last plane, the bullet, the last man, the minute we fight and we always stay with the mission.” And I think that kind of described the spirit of that group extremely well, but it also describes the spirit of you know the group of players that we have on our team this year.

I can’t wait to take my sons to see this film to learn about their history and possibly inspire them to reach for greatness!

Red Tails opens in theaters January 20.

Red Tails stars Oscar® winner Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire), Oscar nominee Terrence Howard (Crash), Emmy® winner Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”), Nate Parker (The Secret Life of Bees, The Great Debaters), David Oyelowo (The Last King of Scotland, Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Tristan Wilds (“90210”), Grammy® Award winner Cliff Smith aka Method Man (“The Wire”), Kevin Phillips (Pride), Rick Otto (“The Wire”), Lee Tergesen (Monster), Andre Royo (“Heroes”), Grammy-Award winner Ne-Yo (Stomp the Yard), Elijah Kelley (Hairspray), Marcus T. Paulk (Take the Lead), Leslie Odom Jr. (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Michael B. Jordan (“Friday Night Lights,” Chronicle) and Daniela Ruah (“NCIS”).

Landon Collins’ Mom Wants Him At LSU Not Bama

6 Jan

The Under Armour All-America game was on last night.

It showcased the top high school football players in the U.S.

There were 13 players in the game related to former pro athletes including Jim Kelly, Deion Sanders, and Ken Griffey Jr.

Many of the young men have already made verbal commitments to top colleges, but some haven’t and a few of them revealed their decision on national television during the game.

The most talked about is  6-foot-2, 205-pound Landon Collins. He is the nation’s top safety prospect.

His decision came down to 2 schools: LSU and Alabama, the #1 and #2 rated colleges in the country.

Collins is from Geismar, Louisiana not far from Baton Rouge.

Ultimately, Landon Collins chose Alabama over LSU.

He said he felt more at home with the Crimson Tide. (Booooo!)

That’s been the thing for me and what I have always said. I felt so much at home at Alabama,” he said. “I have so much trust in those coaches and I get along so well with the players. That is why I ultimately picked Alabama.”

Most parents would be happy that their child will be attending college on a scholarship and playing for a top notch football program.

Not Landon Collins’ mom!

Immediately after saying his terrible choice, Mama Collins dropped her head not hiding her disappointment.

“I feel as if LSU is the better place for him,” she said. “LSU Tigers are No. 1.”

While Landon held up gloves celebrating Alabama, his mom sat next to him waving the gloves of mighty LSU!

GEAUX Mama Collins.

Sorry, but as a LSU fan, I love his mom’s zeal, respect, and appreciation for LSU!!!

Afterall, mama knows best!

However, if his decision were between Bama and say….Ole Miss, I would be denouncing her actions for not supporting her son.

So…I vow never to do this to Mo or B if they choose another college over LSU. I promise…

Oh, and Tide fans, don’t get your cousin’s panties in a happy wad thinking you’ve snooped the Tigers. Word is, Landon Collins’ girlfriend is a big Alabama fan and will be attending there next year.

Hmm….sounds like the NCAA needs to look into some Bama recruiting policies…IJS

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

18 Year Old Mom Kills Intruder

4 Jan

Motherhood is one of the few jobs that doesn’t come with a handbook or manual.

However, moms are equipped to conquer many parenthood decisions using instinct.

Sarah McKinley, an 18 year old Oklahoma mom with a 3 month old son is proof of this.

On New Year’s Eve, 2 men were trying to break into her house. She recognized one of them bc he came to her house earlier and she didn’t let him in.

This time, he was armed with a 12 inch hunting knife, and one of his friends.

She blocked her front door with a couch, got her 12 gauge shotgun, went into her bedroom got a handgun, put a bottle in the baby’s mouth and called 911.

This teen  mom definitely rose to the occasion. When I was 18 my biggest decision was what color dress I was gonna wear to the Prom.

I am amazed at how mature, calm, and poised she was during the 911 call.

McKinley asked the dispatcher, “I’ve got two guns in my hand — is it OK to shoot him if he comes in this door? I’m here by myself with my infant baby, can I please get a dispatcher out here immediately?”

“I can’t tell you that you can do that but you do what you have to do to protect your baby,” the dispatcher said.

The 911 conversation lasted for 21 minutes. Then the door gave in.

“I waited till he got in the door. They said I couldn’t shoot him until he was inside the house. So I waited until he got in the door and then I shot him,” McKinley said

When the intruder kicked in the door and came after her with the knife, the teen mom shot and killed the 24-year-old man. The other suspect fled but later turned himself in.

Police are calling the shooting justified..

If this isn’t enough for someone to go through, Amy’s husband died a few days earlier on Christmas. He was battling Cancer.

I’m thankful for the Second Amendment and the fact that Amy and her child are safe.

I respect her courage and admire her for standing up and protecting herself and her child.

“It’s not an easy decision to make, but it was either going to be him or my son. And it wasn’t going to be my son. There’s nothing more dangerous than a woman with a child.

LSU Championship Bounce

1 Jan

I really was gonna wait a day or 2 to talk smack about LSU, but I came across this video, and couldn’t help myself!!!

In 1985, the Chicago Bears made “The Super Bowl Shuffle” video just before their Super Bowl XX win.

In 2012, the LSU Tigers have “The Championship Bounce” video just before we beat Alabama for our 3rd BCS Title.

While our BCS opponent, Alabamer is doing the LOSER LINE DANCE, the undefeated LSU Tigers are doing the Championship Bounce!

This video is so fun and represents the true spirt of LSU Tigers…clever, funny, and talented.

Mo and B are getting a real kick out of watching it and doing the “Les Miles Clap” and the “Brad Wing”.

GEAUX TIGERS! Bring home the crystal (AGAIN)!!!!
