Beyonce’s 1st Post Baby Photo

8 Feb

Wowzers.

Just 1 month after having baby, Blue Ivy, Beyonce makes her first public appearance.

She hit her hubby’s club 40-40 for the Monday after party to his 1st Carnegie Hall performance.

Party goers said Bey was out well past Blue’s bedtime. She hit the after party around midnight and left around 4AM.

Good for her!

One mistake I made was hibernating at home for months after my kiddies were born. It’s great for new moms to get out and about post baby. It’s good for baby and mommy to realize they are ok for a little time without each other.

As if women need one more reason to hate Bey, she has done it again!!!

She was show stopping in a beautiful red Temperley London dress, 4 inch Christian Louboutin heels and an Alexander McQueen clutch.

Oh, and let’s not forget every new mommie’s best friend, CLEAVAGE.

The rouched dress was a great post pregnancy choice.

My kid is 3 YEARS old, and I still rock rouched clothing. It’s perfect for when I don’t feel like sucking in my stomach all the time.

As a tribute to daughter Blue, Bey was wearing a big old Blue ring and blue nail polish. Both stood out notably since her dress was red.

Very cute tribute to her daughter. I wonder if Jay-Z had on blue boxers.

Glad to see the new mommy out and still glowing.

Then the next night, Beyonce makes another appearance out and about attending her hubby’s final Carnegie Hall performance.

She’s showing off her sexy curvy body in a Monique Lhullier dress and  making motherhood look AMAZING!

Golden Globe Dresses 2012

15 Jan

Last year at the Golden Globes, the mommies didn’t quite have it together.

This year, THEY SHOWED UP!!!!

The mommies rocked the Golden Globe Red Carpet!!!!

Here are my top 3 faves:

*My top mark goes to mommy of 2, Jessica Alba.

She had on the most beautiful lilac purple Gucci dress ( I love that shout out to LSU).

In her Red Carpet interview, she mentioned her daughter said she looked like a mermaid. (I love the shout out to her little one).

She recently had her 2nd child, and she was just glowing and radiating beauty.

Her hair, makeup, and jewelry were gorgeous. Her dress so perfectly glamorous for the occasion.

Perfect 10!

*Next up for Golden Globe hottie, is my #1 choice from last year, Sofia Vergara.

Sofia was also my choice from last year’s Emmy’s. OMG…I still remember how beautiful she was.

She is really becoming one of my Red Carpet faves.

She just always gets it right.

She teamed up again with Vera Wang (and her curvy body) for the dress. They’re a great team!

*My final hot mommie at the Golden Globes is mommy of 5,  Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace.

She has such a commanding presence on the Red Carpet.

She is the only person who makes tats and red lipstick work for a Red Carpet event.

I didn’t looove her dress (it looked kinda weird with that red blob on the top, but she wore it well).

Angelina’s hair (you gotta be HOT to make a bun look good) and makeup looked amazing. Plus she totally rocked her tattoos (and prolly Brad Pitt‘s world before the show).

I really enjoyed seeing her in the interviews. I’ve never heard her talk so much on the Red Carpet.  When she wasn’t talking, she had a Twillight-like glaze on her face like she wanted to cut someone.

Oh Angie…She just exudes natural sexiness. And come one…there is no better accessory than Brad Pitt.

*I have to give a special shout out to Elle MacPherson in Zac Posen.

She is becoming one of my fave mommies.

After 2 kids, her body is still killer, hence her nickname, “The Body”.

Perhaps having a top selling lingerie line inspires her.

Her dress was kinda kooky (what’s with all the tulle???), but she’s so pretty, it didn’t really matter.

At 47 years old, Elle can still work any Red Carpet or runway.

*And my favorite non mommy at the Golden Globes is Charlize Theron in Dior Couture.

OMG…she is definitely one of the sexiest women in Hollywood.

She has such a fresh, clean look.

I love her classic simple beauty.

She’s perfect without trying so hard. She looked stunning!!!

Did I love her dress…no. But when you stand out more than what you’re wearing…you’re doing something right!

*Favorite young person is Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland.

What a beautiful vintage Dolce & Gabana.

I would totally rock this dress!

Such a classic, chic dress for the petite 21 year old. It was a great choice.

She didn’t look like  a little girl playing dress up in mommy’s closet.

She looked like a beautiful young lady with class and style.

I Love Mariah On HSN

21 Nov

Last year I had so much fun watching Mariah Carey on HSN.

It was her 1st time showing her jewelry and clothing line. She was hilarious.

The best part was when she tweeted me ( I have arrived!) during a show commercial break.

Oh, how I love Mariah!

This year, she is a new mommy to twins Morrocan and Monroe, has a fabulous body from Jenny Craig, and a hot Christmas duet with Justin Beiber.

She recently discussed her difficult pregnancy, motherhood, and invited us into her home on 20/20 with Barbara Walters.

As if that’s not enough, she will be on HSN Tuesday November 22.

I am eagerly anticipating her line of Christmas Decor.

Mimi is quite festive and her Merry Christmas II You wins my award for fave Christmas CD.

I was super excited when I saw that she has a holiday home line complete with tree decorations, figurines, and a wreath.

Mimi is always good for comedy and great lively commentary too.

Who knows…Dem Babies might make a special appearance.

Make sure you tune in to HSN Tuesday November 22 at  midnight, noon, 4pm & 9pm EST.

In addition to her Christmas line, she will also be selling her perfume, clothing, shoes, and jewelry.

LSU vs Alabama

5 Nov

As you know, I am a HUGE LSU Football fan!!!!

It’s my fave school I’m an alumni at.

Today is the possibly one of our biggest games of the season.

The #1 ranked LSU Tigers will battle the #2 Alabama elephants/tide/w.e their mascot is…

Kickoff is today at 8:11 PST on CBS.

Every Saturday, I  love donning my LSU gear and cheering on my Tigers.

This year, I had to do something special in honor of this big game….Since I live in Sunny Southern California, I thought this outfit was quite fitting for the occasion:

The only thing the Tide is good for is keeping my LSU gear clean. -Nora Moore

Stella McCartney Miracle Dress

29 Sep

Halleluyer for modern discoveries.

Many fashion trends have been created to help women disguise shape our bodies.

This is especially helpful after having a baby.

The Miracle Bra helped boost our boobies. Spanx helped to trasform our surplus flubber.

Well now, there is the Bicolour Octavia A.K.A the Miracle Dress created by mommy of 4, Stella McCartney (sons Miller Alasdhair James Willis (born 2005) and Beckett Robert Lee Willis in London (born 2008); and daughters Bailey Linda Olwyn Willis (born 2006) and Reiley Dilys Stella Willis (born 2010).

The fitted garment owes its slimming effect to clever color-blocking – panels of contoured, colored stretch fabric in the front and back, and stretchy black panels at the sides. The black panels are barely visible, which forces the eye to focus only on the contrasting panels – giving the wearer the illusion of having a more slender, yet more curvy figure.

Trickery at it’s best!!!!

Who needs lipo when there is color blocking????

Celebs like Kate Winslett (Hot Mama), Nicole Scherzinger, Liv Tyler (Hot Mama), Gloria Estefan (Hot Mama), and La La Anthony (Hot Mama) have been spotted rocking the colorblock shaping frock.

Stella (daughter of Beatles great, Paul McCartney) really outidid herself.

The Miracle Dress retails for $1,595 and is listed as out of stock on her website.

For you B.O.Bs (Ballers on a Budget) like myself, knockoffs of the dress are already available.

UK-based retailerTopshop, a favorite of Kate Middleton’s, offers a chocolate and cappuccino dress for $84.

Bebe offers its own $69 version, complete with “body-embracing stretch.”

The Hottest Mom at the 2011 Emmy Awards

19 Sep

The mommies rocked the red carpet at the 2011 Golden Globes.

One mom in particular was amazingly stunning.

She has done it again at the 2011 Emmy Awards.

SOFIA VERGARA IS A HOT MAMA!!!!!!!

The 39 year old curvy Colombian beauty stole the red carpet at the 63rd Emmy Awards.

She wore a gorgeous one shoulder coral gown (my fave color) by Vera Wang. She accessorized the gown with Emerald earrings from her native country.

Wang and Vergara are proving to be a great combo.

Vera Wang also dressed Sofia for the 2011 Golden Globes in a jaw dropping red gown.

Sofia is hilarious on Modern Family. The show won 5 awards at the Emmy’s including Best Comedy Series, for the 2nd year in a row.

Sofia has a 19 year old son, Manolo.

Bowing down to the Modern Family beauty for keeping motherhood sexy and rocking the carpet for the mommies!!!!!

Missoni For Target

14 Sep

There has been a huge fusion in the fashion world.

The high end Italian design house, Missoni has collaborated with Target to develop a line of 400 items. The Missoni family viewed the deal as a way to bring one of Italy’s best-known luxury brand names to a wider audience.

Missoni knit wear typically retails for more than $1,000 in boutiques and luxury department stores.

At Target, most items were less than $40 and included knit dresses, cardigans, rain boots, shoes, bedding, lingerie, luggage, dinnerware, stationary, and iPod covers. Most items featured Missoni’s famous zig -zag print.

The success of the Missoni line has been unprecedented. Target did a huge campaign advertising in Vogue, Fashion Week, and Fashion Night Out. I don’t think anyone could anticipate how popular this was gonna be.

Here’s an example of the savings consumers are being offered by purchasing Missoni at Target.

Banded V-Neck Dress at Bergdorf Goodman’s and Neiman Marcus $1,490

Missoni for Target Sleeveless Sweater Dress- Multicolor Zigzag Print $54.99

Luxury designers doing more moderately priced lines for retailers is very popular. Missoni isn’t the 1st line.  Architect Michael Graves was one of the 1st at Target over 10 years ago. He put his signature flair on teapots and toasters.

Ana Sui, John Paul Gaultier, Rodarte, and Issac Mizrahi followed suit with their own Target lines.

Other retailers have jumped on board. Kohl’s Corp. partnered with designer Vera Wang, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. did a deal with Norma Kamali, and H&M has offered limited editions from Roberto Cavalli Jimmy Choo, and Karl Lagerfeld.

Soooo….being the B.O.B (Baller On a Budget) that I am, I had to see the Missoni line for myself.

I dropped Mo off at school and Bronson and I headed to our local Target. As I pulled into the parking lot, a sea of Range Rovers, Bentleys, and Mercedes Benz greeted me. A huge shift from the Toyotas and Kias I normally see in the parking garage.

As soon as I walked in, I saw a huge cluster of women, mostly clad in designer duds, full makeup, huge diamonds, and Chanel bags. I’m no fashion heavyweight, but I do have a great appreciation for nice things…ON SALE, of course. These were the women who prolly frequented Neimans and Saks and never looked at a pricetag. Or the women who were dressed up and pretending to fall into this category.

What were they doing on my turf??? Isn’t the purpose of the Missoni for Target line to appeal to a DIFFERENT audience??? But hey, times are hard and everyone is looking for a deal these days.

The scene felt worse than Black Friday. The racks had already been cleared by the money saving mavens. I arrived at 8:30 and many of the women had lined up since 7AM for the the 8 AM opening. The only remnants of the Missoni line was billboards and empty shelves.

Target employees gradually brought out more items and they were instantly mobbed by these “classy” women. There were 3 security guards on hand and 2 of the ladies were arrested on site for fighting over the Missoni items. ( I would love to see those Biatches clad in a L.A County orange jumpsuit…a far cry from Missoni). Many of the women complained of hair pulling, shoving, and scratching.

I witnessed store employees being berated and yelled at for not having enough inventory. I saw 2 security guards getting cursed out for being “in the way”. A lot of these women were out of control and downright obnoxious with their self entitled attitudes.

***NEWSLASH*** You are in Target. Simmer down with the snobbiness. Go buy a Coke and some candles on Aisle 12 and REALX!

I was sad I missed the great deals but happy to be part of the action. This was fashion history to me, but I refused to partake in treating store employees and other people as inferior to get a deal on a designer sweater.  I strolled by customers who proudly smirked as I admired their Missoni bargains in their buggy.

Then 3 things happened that re-assured me the nice guy doesn’t always finish last.

1. As Bronson and I were playing in the kid section (far away from the Missoni displays) a Target employee walks by with a box. He admires Bronson then informs me his cardboard box is filled with Missoni glasses that are about to go on the shelves in the war zone 1 floor below. He gives me 1st dips. SCORE!

2. As I’m looking for a backpack to Mo (far away from the Missoni displays) another store employess points out about 2o untouched Missoni carry on luggage bags just sitting untouched on the secluded aisle. I couldn’t believe my good fortune. I thanked the employee, grabbed Mo’s backpack as well as one of the Missoni carry ons. SCORE!

3. In need of a couple of tshirts, I wander into the women’s department. The Missoni mob is nowhere in sight bc they are all staked outside the warehouse and shipping doors impatiently waiting for more items. Just as I’m eyeing some $10 tees, a security guard I previously chatted up about all the craziness taps me on the shoulder and informs me a shipment of Missoni sweaters was just put on the floor from. I politely grab one in my size. SCORE!

Then I spot a mom like me, 2 kids in tow, sweatpants, dirty shirt, disheveled hair, no makeup, but a HUGE friendly smile. She’s the 1st Missoni hunting shopper I meet with kids present. I quickly direct her to the sweaters and luggage. She is so appreciative of the finds and goes on to tell me these are her 1st designer items and she never thought in a million years she’d be sporting a designer line she’d seen so many times on tv and the red carpet.

She and I walk past the Gucci clad angry mob and flash a huge smile to them as they side eye our Missoni bargains in our buggies.

I am thankful to Missoni and Target for giving me and this mom an opportunity to indulge our designer taste on a B.O.B budget.

Carry Your Own Bags

5 Sep

Since the new school year is around the corner, I took Mo school shopping.

Oh, how he dreaded being torn apart from his Wii, Beyblades, and soccer ball.

He protested and said all his clothes from last year were just fine and didn’t want new ones.

Geez…couldn’t believe how much my kid didn’t wanna go to the mall and spend time with his super uncool mom.

In true Mr. Simplicity fashion, he picked out the first things he saw at the 1st store we walked past.

I bribed took him go to one more just for variety.

So as we’re walking to get our celebratory Wetzel Pretzels, we have this convo:

MO: Why am I da only kid in da whole mall carrying my own bags?!

ME: Bc yur mom is from the South.

MO: *rolls eyes*

ME: *Smacks his big head*

Then it dawned on me… my kids need more responsiblity.

I live in a world where kids have nannies and hired help from an early age. So many children around me are catered to by adults and given their way with just one tiny wimper.

I grew up in a traditional middle class home. I had a job since I was 15 years old til I was 30 and had my 1st son.

I had chores, a curfew, and good manners.

Good behavior wasn’t rewarded, it was expected.

So, why is it that my 7 year old is questioning the fact that he has to carry his own bags (filled with new clothes so he looks nice for 2nd grade!).

I’m not carrying your bags, YOU ARE!

Umm…just bc I am your mom, it does not make me Hazel, Benson, or Mr. Belvedere.

Mo goes on to tell me how mean I am and how NONE of his friends have to do chores.

As a parent, it’s up to us to keep strong in our values. Hold tight to what you believe and enforce it in your name.

Just because it’s deviant from what is around you, doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong!

Too Pretty For Homework

2 Sep

ATTENTION JC PENNEY SHOPPERS!!!!

Who would have thought JC Penney would be in hot water from parents for a slogan tshirt?

They were selling 7-16 year old girls a shirt that reads:

“I’m too pretty to do homework, so my brother has to do it for me.”

*Jaw drops*

REALLY? The idea of putting it in the heads of young girls that they have to choose between beauty and brains is more heartbreaking than when Lipstick  Jungle got cancelled.

As you can imagine, many parents were outraged with this sexist concept being marketed to young girls.

What a tough year for moms of daughters. First the padded bikini top for teens, then the sexy 10 year old model in Vogue, and lingerie for lil girls. PHEW…having 2 boys never felt better!

But as a female who has both, BEAUTY AND BRAINS, I was disgusted.

Thank goodness for the power of twitter. Once the tweets got going an online petition was started. Never underestimate the power of Social Media! JC Penney got the message loud and clear and issued this statement:

“J.C. Penney is committed to being America’s destination for great style and great value for the whole family. We agree that the “Too pretty” t-shirt does not deliver an appropriate message, and we have immediately discontinued its sale. Our merchandise is intended to appeal to a broad customer base, not to offend them. We would like to apologize to our customers and are taking action to ensure that we continue to uphold the integrity of our merchandise that they have come to expect.”

The shirt was only being sold online. It was discontinued and removed from their website.

JC Penney, I’m gonna need you to do better or else stick to selling vacuums and granny panties.
