I did my third mud run and had a blast. The Spartan Race is a 5K obstacle course that challenges your physical and mental strength. I wouldn’t have made it through without the awesome Steel Barbells team.
I regularly workout but I knew I had to step the gym routine up to prepare for Spartan. Michael Lopez put me through rigorous training of cardio and cross-fit like workouts. I was in the best shape of my life!!!
The 2013 Spartan Race really challenged me. I almost broke down and quit on the never-ending uphill barbed wire crawl through mud. This year it was my mission to tackle this obstacle with ease. Completing the muddy crawl unscathed without a scratch or downhill slide in record time was definitely a shining moment for me.
Each year I conquer an obstacle I never thought imaginable. Last year it was the monkey bars. This year it was the rope climb wall. After watching others unsuccessfully get steps up the incline only to falter I wasn’t sure how I’d do it, BUT I DID and it felt great!!!
I enjoy pushing myself and the camaraderie of the Steel Barbells crew and other Spartans help make it a memorable experience. Looking forward to next year and earning my Trifecta medal. AROO!!!
