Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.
— Oprah Winfrey
I’ve often heard
men people say they don’t like to celebrate Valentine’s Day because they don’t show love just on one day, they show it year round.
I feel the same about Thanksgiving. I am thankful on a daily basis, not just the 4th Thursday of every November. Even when things don’t seem to go right for me, I find some good in that instant because I can recall a past that wasn’t so happy. After experiencing a tough time in your life, once you better your situation, you have a keener sense of appreciation for happiness. You don’t take a smile, a chuckle, a freedom, a moment for granted.
I’m thankful for my voice, my opinion, and the power to make both heard when necessary.
I’m thankful for my sons who inspire me daily to keep advocating for them, their future, and their happiness.
I’m thankful for my parents and my sister who will always love, support, and be proud of me.
I’m thankful for an experience that allowed me to love and reminded me that I am worthy of being loved daily.
I’m thankful for a small group of friends who never judge me and are always just a phone call/text/or email away.
I”m thankful for all the smart, stylish, and strong moms who exemplify motherhood and remind me why we sacrifice for our kids.
I’m thankful for my life and the ability to share myself with those around me.
