Naturally, with his finesse, talent, and swag, Ronaldo is Mo’s favorite soccer player.
The International Champions Cup put on a great show in Los Angeles.
Real Madrid played against Everton followed by hometown crowd favorite LA Galaxy vs Juventus. It was quite clear though that the crowd came to support
my baby daddy Ronaldo.
A plethora of futbol favorites in one arena is enough to create a soccer mom gone wild: Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Cristiano Ronaldo, Tim Howard, Marouane Fellani, Robbie Keane, Landon Donovan, and Andrea Pirlo.
Even with eye candy abound my favorite memory will always be talking to Mo about soccer. As he watched Ronaldo with awe during warmup I told him, “He was born good. He worked hard to become great.”
Mo gets a lot of flack from his friends and teammates for liking Ronaldo. Most of them are Messi fans.
Surrounded by CR7 jerseys I pointed out to Mo that while some may hate you many more will love you. Never let other people’s opinion define who you are.
When the game started Mo studied every move Ronaldo made.
He watched him graciously wave to the adoring crowd, out handle his opponent with his dribbling skills, and masterfully navigate the field of Dodger stadium.
Our favorite game moment came 17 minutes into the match.
With pristine execution Ronaldo darted down the right side of the field and gracefully tapped the ball in making US history-he scored the 1st soccer goal in Dodger Stadium. And to think this historical triumph occurred only 10 feet in front of us!!!! (Everyone knew a goal was inevitable, even the goalie, that’s how I caught the moment on film!)
There is an ever commanding presence Ronaldo has when he is on the field- an undeniable star and leader.
Mo got to see soccer greatness right before his eyes. Sharing this once in a lifetime memory with him was priceless.
