The minute I heard Hot Mama Sofia Vergara was hospitalized prior to the show and wouldn’t be rocking the Red Carpet, I should have prepared myself. It all went downhill from there.
The E! preshow was terrible.
I hate how Hollywood worships a dress simply because someone says it’s Couture, Vintage, or is designed by a particular designer.
If that’s the case you don’t really like THE DRESS, you like the IDEA or ESSENCE of the dress. A beautiful dress is a beautiful dress as is an ugly one.
It didn’t get any better once the Oscars started.
Seth MacFarlane confused me. I thought Seth MacFarlane was actually Seth Rogan. However, I thought Seth Rogan was Jonah Hill. As I watched the opening I was a little lost when I saw Seth MacFarlane actually looked like Peter Brady.
The show was a complete bore for me, but I was proud that I actually had seen 4 of the nominated movies this year: Lincoln, Skyfall, Flight, and Silver Linings Playbook (my fave).
The fact that the highlight of the show was Jennifer Lawrence falling (because yes, falling is funny) definitely confirms my boredom.
I love how J-Law redeemed herself after the fall while accepting the Best Actress Award, “You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell, and that’s really embarrassing, but thank you.”
Her stumble only made America love her more!
Congrats to all the 2013 Oscar winners.
Let’s work on getting Eddie Murphy to host in 2014. Please
MY FAVE OSCAR SNACK: CUPCAKES
In true LA fashion my fave bakery made the cutest Oscar cupcakes. I couldn’t resist grabbing a couple Red Velvets to scarf down while watching the
MY FAVE OSCAR MOMMY: HELEN HUNT
Mother of Makena Lei and Best Supporting Actress nominee was brilliant on the red carpet. She looked great and wore H&M on the Red Carpet. Yes, H&M as in the store in the mall. WHO CARES?! It was gorgeous. If she had lied and said her dress was Armani the fashion”experts” would have been singing her praises. Hats off to Helen and H&M. Loved it!
BEST DRESSED: ZOE SALDANA
A great Oscar dress is something that is memorable yet classic. Although many will want to duplicate it, it’s such an outstanding dress that you can only wear it once. The off white Alexis Mabille was a work of art. The sweeping hem had a nice splash of color, the belt was unique, and the bodice was intricately beautiful. It was fresh and different yet classy. I loved it.
