Goodnight Ne-Yo and T.I.

imagejpeg_2_6People tease me because I keep my kids on a regular schedule.

Blame the tight ship on my military father. Or maybe it’s just the anal part of me. I am a regimented person and I like order.

Our nightly routine provides balance in our home and it gives me peace of mind because I know every school night I’ll have Mommy time after B goes to bed at 7:30 and Mo at 8:30. As a stay at home mom, having time to myself is essential to my sanity so a trusted schedule is key.

Also, the boys know their expectations and the regular routine gives their body cues when it’s time to start winding down.

So, when Mo said he wanted to go see his favorite rapper, T.I for Valentine’s Day I was slightly hesitant, but I figured I’d give it a shot. Afterall, one of MY fave singers Ne-Yo was also performing so it seemed like a good idea.

The concert was slated to start at 7:30 so I approximated it would be over by 9:30. That wasn’t too bad. (Boy, was I wrong!)

This would be Mo’s 2nd concert. His first one was Mariah Carey in Vegas 3 years ago. He fell asleep before Mimi even hit the stage, but hey what happens in Vegas…ends up on Mommy’s blog!

Long story short, Mo fell asleep at the Valentine’s Day concert and never got to see T.I.

At 8:45 his eyes were getting heavy and by 9:15 he was in REM sleep. Smack dab at Nokia Theater. Perhaps it was the soothing voice of Ne-Yo. His first track must have sounded like a lullaby because Mo was OUT for the count.

I guess that’s the downside of a schedule. No matter where, his body knows what time to shut down.

While he was having sweet dreams of Rihanna, little did he know she was only 4 rows in front of him. Lol

Ne-Yo sounded amazing in person
