For 3 years (Kinder, 1st, and 2nd) he had the same teacher, friends, and classroom. Being in a multiage class was such a great experience for Mo. It really helped him develop and grow into such a confidant young man.
Soooo….after 3 years of the same routine and environment, Mo embarked on a new adventure.
He started 3rd grade at a new school. New friends. And in a cast.
I was so worried for him, but kids are so resilient. I am convinced it’s us as parents who make things harder sometimes.
Mo was so calm and cool. He picked out his own outfit, spent 5 minutes in the bathroom putting water on his hair so it wasn’t too “puffy”, then posed for a few pics.
I could tell he was a little nervous, but he wouldn’t admit.
It was great foregoing our usual 45 minute drive in traffic for a 5 minute walk in our neighborhood.
Since we started school much earlier than our usual school year, it was a nice warm beautiful LA morning.
I had to keep my sunglasses on so my tears wouldn’t make him more nervous.
I guess this is one of those moments we as parents live to see…we nurture and raise our kids to be able to stand on their own 2 feet.
So proud of Mo and eager to watch him excel and enjoy his new school.
Ready or not 3rd grade, here we come!
