Trick Or Treat With Ease

With Halloween around the corner, many of our kids will embark on the lovely tradition of knocking on strangers’ doors and getting free candy. A.K.A Trick or treating.

Our neighborhood doesn’t have a lot of sidewalks, so we’ll be going to a friends house for the festivities. I know this is common practice for many kids in our area.

Before you head out, you might want to do a little research on exactly whose door you will be knocking on and accepting goodies from.

The only thing scarier than ghosts, goblins, and witches are child predators!

The following sites are great for listing the name and location of registered sex offenders in any area as well as providing information to help protect your children and family:

Family Watchdog

California Megan’s Law

Remind your kids not to give out personal info such as where they live, etc. while trick or treating, especially if you don’t know who you’re talking to.

Enjoy Halloween and be safe (and send me all your Butterfingers and Skittles).
