I opened a Facebook account.
Not only did I re-connect with old friends, I made one of my best friends on there, and I also found an outlet for my own self expression.
Facebook has been there for me through many milestones: the birth of my 2nd son, my divorce, love after divorce, and numerous friend reunions.
Most importantly, Facebook led to the birth of my blog.
Fb has introduced numerous changes during my 3 year relationship with them, but in October one of the biggest changes will go into effect. Mark Zuckerberg and his facebook homies are introducing a totally re-vamped timeline.
Here are some of the new features:
*The Timeline is a stream of information about you — the photos you’ve posted, all your status updates, the apps you’ve used, even the places you’ve visited on a world map. It encourages you to post more stuff about your past, using Facebook as a scrapbook.
*One of my fave features is that you can see EVERY status you’ve ever posted since you started Facebook. It is easy to find simply by clicking on the year and month…it even shows you exact days you posted pics, commented on other people’s photos, and posted on their walls. TMI???
*You can watch TV and movies, listen to music, and read news with your friends — all within Facebook. Thanks to a whole bunch of partnerships, there are a lot more things you can do without ever having to leave Facebook. You can watch a show on Hulu, listen to a song on Spotify, or check out a story on Yahoo News .
*You can add a “cover” photo-this is basically like a background photo. It’s in addition to your profile pic, which is sort of inset into the “cover” photo.
*You can do more than just “LIKE” a video, a comment, a product, a person. Mark and his cronies have launched Facebook Gestures, which means that Facebook’s partners and developers can turn any verb into a button. I think this one is gonna be HUGE!!! Can’t wait.
Are you ready to get in on the new Facebook action????
You can get it here:
It’s 9 easy steps that gives you window by window instructions.
It takes a total of prolly 3 minutes.
I suggest you do it from a desktop computer.
Not sure why or how this link is available to get this cutting edge info, but just in case it’s illegal and I’m committing a felony, this blog will self destruct in 3….2….1……
